The costs of hiring an Interim Manager

Interim Managers charge by the day.   Their rate can range from £500 to £2,500 – occasionally higher – which includes our fees but excludes VAT and the Interim Managers’ out of pocket expenses.  These will largely be travel and subsistence costs where the assignment is not within reasonable daily commuting distance. 

An Interim Manager’s day rate depends upon a number of factors; the level of skills and experience the assignment demands, the size of the business, the magnitude of the task and its importance to the enterprise.    However, cost should not simply be seen as an additional payroll expense in all but name; it is part of the cost of transitioning the business from Point A to Point B to achieve a financial benefit.    The more relevant measure is the rate of payback.

To some, the cost of hiring an Interim Manager can seem high; but the cost of not hiring one can be a lot higher.
