We contract with your personal service company for the supply of your services to us; we contact separately with our clients for the supply of interim services to them.   Click here to view a copy of our standard contract.

Our usual practice is to bill clients fortnightly in arrears for payment within 14 days of date of invoice.  The invoice amount comprises the Interim Manager’s charges, normally the product of a daily rate, and our fees.   As a guide, our fees when aggregated with the Interim Manager’s charges represent a gross margin of 20%.

Interim Managers work to the same billing cycle as us.  We pay the Interim Manager when we have been paid by our client; to manage expectations, we quote a payment period of 35 days in the contact between us and the Interim Manager’s personal service company (subject to the client having paid us).   In practice, clients tend to pay us on time which means we are able to pay the Interim Manager before 35 days is reached.

Occasionally a client may prefer to contact direct with an Interim Manager. In such an event, our contract with the client is more limited in its scope and provides for the separate payment of our fees.

In relation to your personal service company, we will need to see original copies of the following before we can place you in an interim role:

  • Photo identification (eg pass port or driving licence) and confirmation of address (a utility bill or council tax demand will usually suffice) for each director of the company
  • The company’s certificate of incorporation
  • The company’s VAT registration
  • Certificate of Employer Liability Insurance if the company has more than one employee
  • The schedule of insurance in respect of your Professional Indemnity cover.  We recommend that you take out cover of at least £500,000 per event.

We may ask to take up general references when you join our community of Interim Managers; we (or the client) will take up assignment specific references ahead of a placement.

We endeavour to provide you with a full briefing before we put you forward for an interim assignment but, for a variety of reasons, client confidentiality being one, this may not always be possible.   Sometimes we may not be able to reveal the client name unless and until you are called for interview and you may be asked to complete a formal non-disclosure agreement.

During the course of an interim assignment we like to keep in regular touch with both you and our Client. This is to ensure that terms of reference which are put in place (formally or informally), are understood and can be used as a basis for monitoring and reviewing assignment progress and your performance in the role. That way, should any issues arise during the course of an assignment (on either side), they can be identified quickly and addressed.
